Winskill’s commission was to produce a series of Military Commanders on horseback, as his speciality was sculpting horses.

Bernard Winskill Military Commanders Napoleon Bonaparte was the first in the series. It was produced in 1969, exactly 200 years from the birth of Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon is modelled on his horse Marengo.

This rare collectable sculpture is no. 88 of 750 only examples in immaculate condition. Height 41.2cm

A Royal Worcester porcelain limited edition from 1968. only 750 were produced in china and 15 in bronze. Each came with its own framed and signed numbered certificate of authenticity. The porcelain sculpture fits into its original wooden base plinth which has a brass plack stating Bonaparte.

Assembled and Painted by hand, each Bernard Winskill Military Commanders Napoleon Bonaparte sculpture has slight differences making it a unique piece of art.
